The
Chrome Plating Process
|
Chrome
Plating is a vital part of Hillcrest Camshaft's operations.
Original dimensions are restored every day with our
5 in-house chrome plating tanks. We have the ability
to plate and machine camshafts up to 14 feet in length.
Chrome plating actually adds hardness, resists abrasions
and reduces friction, therefore, increasing engine RPMs
and horsepower. The chrome plating process means longer
life for journals and bearing surfaces.

The
Polishing Process
|
At
every step in the remanufacturing process, our craftsmen
check and recheck critical dimensions with precision
measuring instruments. Any camshaft not conforming to
specifications is tagged and reworked. Our camshafts
conform to quality specifications.

 |
Our
in-house Quality Control personnel calibrate all micrometers
on a weekly basis, and all testing equipment is certified
by an outside source every 12 months. Some of our testing
methods include hardness testing, grinder burn test,
surface finish test and more.
